A product is nothing without a customer to buy it. Week two of #HardwareAccelerator19 sparked discussions among teams about their product offering, who their target customers should be, and how they can reach them.
The week started with teams reviewing progress and road bumps from the previous week with Assistant Director, Steve Supron, and the Accelerator student instructors, followed by a content session with Hardware Accelerator Program Director, Ken Rother. Rother kicked off the customer discovery conversation, encouraging teams to work together to narrow down their target audience. Later in the week teams learned from guest presenters Hunter Adams, Jason Guss, and Apoorva Kiran.
Adams, founder of Monarch Climate Monitoring Systems, offered advice for conducting customer interviews, noting what questions should and shouldn’t be asked. Guss and Kiran provided insight to their experiences speaking with market professionals about their products.
