Levelle Nutrition Wins Emerging Company Award
Rev member Levelle Nutrition, founded by Dr. Linda Alvarez, M.D., and Stephanie Schrauth, has been awarded the 2025 Nutritional Business Journal Leadership & Growth Award in the Emerging Company category.
This award recognizes Levelle’s groundbreaking work in transforming the sports nutrition industry by focusing on the specific physiological needs of women athletes. Rather than offering slightly modified versions of male-designed products, Levelle designs its formulas from the ground up with women in mind, taking into account factors such as hormonal cycles and unique metabolic needs.
Alvarez, a physician who studied nutrition in medical school, and Schrauth, a product manager and marketer, joined forces after meeting at Cornell. The pair has participated in the Johnson Summer Startup Accelerator and the W.E. Cornell program, working towards commercializing their innovations and overcoming the challenges of leading a growing technology-based company. Combining Alvarez’s medical expertise with Schrauth’s marketing experience, they’ve built a business that is equalizing sports nutrition.
Alvarez credits her parents with inspiring her to become an entrepreneur. “I saw my father start his own business, and my mother had her own private practice. I saw I could also be capable of doing this,” said Alvarez.
