Who we are

Rev: Ithaca Startup is seeking undergraduate or graduate student summer instructors to assist with our prototyping accelerator program for summer of 2023. The minimum term of the position will be the duration of the program (May 30 – Aug 4) though interested applicants may extend the position to start a few weeks earlier or extend a few weeks later, based on availability. Candidates in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or makerspace experience are preferred, though other backgrounds and skillsets may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in training startup founders on prototyping machines, such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNCs, and electronics stations
  • Assist in prototyping and assembling products in cleantech, agtech, and other hardware applications
  • Lead or support content sessions on prototyping technologies and prototyping strategy
  • Attend weekly technical reviews with each startup and provide input on their development strategy & progress
  • Repair and maintain shop equipment throughout the program

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing (or recent graduate) of an engineering or design program
  • Ability to work 30-40hrs/wk in Ithaca, NY for the duration of the program (May 30 – Aug 4)
  • Experience in makerspace or prototyping settings (electrical, mechanical, or design)
