Job Openings:

Unibaio | Agronomist

We are seeking a full-time Agronomist based in or near Ithaca, NY, to lead the design, execution, and analysis of biological field trials across multiple crops and geographies. The role combines protocol development, hands-on field work, data integration, and cross-functional collaboration with our biotechnology and business teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys experimentation, field agronomy, and working in a dynamic startup environment with global impact.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Execution of Field Trials

  • Develop biological trial protocols using standard agronomic and pre-commercial practices.
  • Execute and monitor field trials across the U.S. (and coordinate with Southern Hemisphere partners).
  • Collect, record, and validate experimental data across crops, seasons, and regions.
  • Identify optimal doses, management practices, and field sites for technology validation.

Data Management & Analysis

  • Integrate field results into databases and digital analysis platforms (e.g., carbon emissions, environmental impact indexes, eIQ, etc.).
  • Consolidate findings into technical summaries to support internal R&D and customer-facing materials.

Procurement & Operational Support

  • Identify suppliers and manage procurement of agrochemical products (herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, etc.).
  • Coordinate shipments, purchases, and field-trial logistics in collaboration with local partners.

Technical Communication & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Develop and update the company’s Technical Deck for communication with farmers, agronomists, and corporate partners.
  • Work directly with the biotechnology team to optimize formulations and understand product–active ingredient interactions.
  • Detect new application opportunities by crop, region, and management system.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Sciences, or related field.
  • Experience designing and executing field trials.
  • Strong skills in data recording, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of agrochemical use, crop protection products, and agronomic management.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for field visits.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (Agronomy, Plant Science, or related).
  • Experience with agrochemical efficacy trials or biological products.
  • Familiarity with databases, digital agronomy platforms, or environmental impact metrics.
  • Experience working with growers, extension programs, or industry partners.

Applicants must indicate their expected salary range in the application.
Equity compensation may be offered as part of the package, aligned with the early-stage startup environment.
