Who we are

The Center for Regional Economic Advancement at Cornell University is seeking marketing and communications interns for Fall 2025, and the possibility of extension in Spring 2026. We are seeking self-starters with strong interests in social media, graphic design, event promotion, and writing. The successful candidates will bring new creative ideas and be able to work independently while managing multiple competing deadlines.

Cornell Center for Regional Economic Advancement Marketing and Communications Intern 

 Responsibilities 

  • Create content and a posting schedule for a number of social media accounts
  • Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn 
  • Write articles and blog posts for different platforms 
  • Collect, resize, and organize photos and logos 
  • Create graphics using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Canva 
  • Collect social media and website metrics for quarterly reports 
  • Aid in event promotion and take photos and videos for live social media content at events 
  • Assist with WordPress website updates 
  • Keep up to date with programs, events, and happenings at CREA
  • Assist other teams if and when necessary with basic research, fact-checking, and content creation 

Qualifications 

  • Student majoring in (or recently graduated with a degree in) marketing, communications, journalism, or public relations 
  • Available to go into the office in Ithaca, NY, about 2-4 days per week 
  • Must have professional attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and execution 
  • Have experience working with Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Must be comfortable working in an environment where change is common, capable of setting priorities under pressure 
  • Must have the ability to work and collaborate with others under little supervision while demonstrating a positive, purpose-oriented work ethic 
  • Must have samples of past work for application to be considered

 This is a Fall 2025 internship starting in September and ending in December, with the possibility of extension into the spring. 10-15 hours per week to start, $18 per hour.   

The internship will be based out of Rev: Ithaca Startup Works. Some night work will be required, including bimonthly networking nights and occasional events on Cornell’s campus. Seeking one qualified candidate for this position.
