SUMMARY:Filmmaking for Change: Gaia Girls Enter the Earth
DESCRIPTION:Storytelling through entertainment is one of the most powerful forms of mass communication\, informing\, enlightening and inspiring audiences to get involved. We’re seeing a groundswell of social impact films being produced\, many connected to specific causes\, such as the environment; but these projects are more than just entertainment. They are business lines\, leading to educational movements\, providing unique screening tours\, merchandising\, lesson plans and toolkits\, all supporting a call to action…to create change. As independent filmmakers are forced to think like entrepreneurs\, we will learn\, there are similar structures involved in the development\, production and distribution of these projects\, as demonstrated with Gaia Girls Enter the Earth \nThe presentation will be given by award-winning filmmaker\, film festival director and author of Filmmaking for Change\, Jon Fitzgerald (www.causepictures.com). Joining him will be the author of the award-winning Gaia Girls book series\, Lee Welles (www.gaiagirls.com). \nRSVP HERE!
