SUMMARY:Rev Content Session: Maximizing Social Media in 2022 for Startups and Small Businesses
DESCRIPTION:Regardless of the size of your startup or small business\, social media is an important tool for building rapport with current and future customers\, improving your brand’s visibility\, and boosting sales. \nRev invites members of the entrepreneurial community to attend “Maximizing Social Media in 2022 for Startups and Small Businesses” on January 21\, 2022 (9:30 -11:00 a.m. EST)\, led by Carol Cain\, Principal & Owner at Brave World Media and a 2021 Forbes Next 1000 Entrepreneur. Leveraging her expertise in marketing and communications\, Cain will walk participants through the basics of building an effective social media strategy for 2022 and social media best practices for startups and small businesses. \nWhether you’re a social media marketing “newbie\,” or looking to maximize your existing social media channels\, this session will help you determine how to improve your business’ social media presence in the New Year! \nAbout Carol Cain \nCarol’s media outreach and communications work is inspired by her time as an award-winning travel blogger with a global social media audience as @GirlGoneTravel. Before then\, Carol had firmly established herself as an expert in public relations and communications\, a career she has worked to build on for over 20 years. She has invaluable experience working in social media marketing\, media outreach\, campaign and marketing strategy\, brand messaging\, and crisis management. \nHer work is also inspired by her commitment to diversity and inclusion\, long before these became marketing buzzwords. Her leadership\, insightfulness\, and years of experience have been instrumental in the success and growth of her clients and in shifting marketing narratives that align with and represent society as it looks and feels today. \nWhen not working to impact the media and marketing industries in positive ways\, Carol volunteers her time as a Spanish-language interpreter for asylum seekers detained in the U.S. She most enjoys everyday life with her family and two puppies. \n\n Click here to register!

SUMMARY:Revving Up the Maker Revolution (eCornell Keynote)
DESCRIPTION:Revving Up the Maker Revolution: Specialization Fuels Success\nTuesday\, February 1 (3:00 p.m. EST) – Virtual  \nAs a maker\, you know that if you build it\, they — your customers — won’t come right away. So\, you build it again and again\, often with the help of increasingly affordable 3D printers and prototyping tools. But what comes next? Anyone can be an inventor; you need to refine and scale a business to compete. \nIn this webinar hosted by the Hardware Accelerator team at Rev: Ithaca Startup Works\, industry experts and startup founders share their hard-won advice\, revealing the obstacles they faced making the leap from product idea to prototype to manufacturing and how specializing helped them succeed. You’ll discover how these entrepreneurs harnessed trends and resources to scale product companies focused on specific industries\, like climate and agriculture technology. \nInterested in learning more about Rev’s hardware accelerator programs? SUMMARY:Networking@Rev: The Power of Physical Products
DESCRIPTION:Networking@Rev: The Power of Physical Products\nThursday\, February 24 (6:00 – 8:30 p.m. EST) at Rev: Ithaca Startup Works  \nToday’s hardware entrepreneurs are focused on developing physical product solutions to improve the lives of consumers—think 3D printed prosthetics—as well as addressing some of the most pressing issues facing the world. This is especially true within the clean energy and agri-food sectors\, where climate change is presenting serious challenges to the environment and people across the globe.   \nWith advances in prototyping tools and technologies\, and the rise of crowdfunding\, hardware entrepreneurship is experiencing a revival. Entrepreneurs around the world are finding it easier to actualize their plans for physical products faster and more efficiently than ever before.   \nRev: Ithaca Startup Works invites the entrepreneurial community to come together for an evening dedicated to networking and showcasing the innovations of hardware entrepreneurs from its Prototyping Hardware Accelerator and Manufacturing Hardware Accelerator.   \nEngage in socially distanced and masked mingling over local food and beverages (single serve for safety) while enjoying quick pitches from Rev’s hardware entrepreneurs and tabling of their physical products. Information on Rev’s hardware program offerings\, including its new prototyping tracks tailored to ClimateTech and AgTech innovation will also be shared at the event.    \nThis event is free and open to the public. Attendees must register in advance and abide by Cornell University’s COVID-19 event protocols (detailed in the Eventbrite upon registration).  \n\n Register now

SUMMARY:Networking@Rev: Empowering the Ecosystem
DESCRIPTION:Networking@Rev: Empowering the Ecosystem – Moving Toward Gender Equity in Entrepreneurship\nThursday\, June 23 (6:00 – 8:30 pm. ET) at Rev: Ithaca Startup Works   \n Female founders are flourishing. In 2021\, startups founded solely by women in the United States raised nearly $6.4 billion in venture capital – 83% higher than the total raised in the previous year\, according to PitchBook data. Despite these exceptional gains\, that amount still represents a sliver (2%) of the $330 billion in VC dollars invested in U.S. startups across the board last year.   \nRev: Ithaca Startup Works invites the public to “Empowering the Ecosystem” on June 23 (6:00 – 8:30 p.m. ET)\, an evening devoted to networking and addressing how to move the entrepreneurial ecosystem toward gender equity.  \n Andrea Ippolito\, CEO and founder of SimpliFed\, a Rev member company that recently closed a $6 million seed round\, will be leading an engaging panel discussion with founders\, investors\, and business leaders on ways the ecosystem can better support women and non-binary entrepreneurs seeking startup success. The night – free and open to all – will also showcase startup pitches and include mingling over local food and beverages.  \nAttendees must abide by Cornell University’s COVID-19 event protocols (detailed in the Eventbrite upon registration). \n \n\n Register now
